Fame and Infamy

Fame and Infamy

Fame can work in your favor (true fame) or against you (infamy).
Some fame/infamy is associated with an individual while other times it can be for the whole group.

The world is heavily populated by bards, storytellers, and folk eager for distraction from their daily lives – the combination making for a ripe market for tales of epic struggle and heroic battles. Therefore, whenever your party performs a deed that is noteworthy of the population, you will receive + or – 1 Fame Point. Each fame point is worth +1 or –1 on Diplomacy, Gather Information and Intimidate checks made by party members within the areas the fame was earned and the surrounding area. A deed that is considered a “good” deed that benefits society will earn your group +1 on Diplomacy and Information Gathering in the area and –1 on Intimidate checks toward those with a positive reaction adjustment to you and +1 to those with a negative reaction adjustment to you (DM’s discretion to those who are indifferent). Just the opposite bonuses apply to deeds committed by your party where the bards sing darkly of you!
